Two kids from Waseca
Matt and Brenda Stoltz grew up in Waseca. They started dating in high school, graduated in the class of 1998, and married six days after graduation. By 2020 they’d been dancing through life together for twenty-two years.

Learning the work
Seventeen years in the Twin Cities, working and raising a family. Together they served as caretakers for apartment communities — routine cleaning, monthly turns, carpet cleaning, and everything else a building asks of the people who keep it. It’s where the standard was set: you clean like the residents are coming home tonight, because they are.
Along the way Matt built years of business management and operations experience in the IT industry, leading service delivery and operations teams. Brenda built her career as a homemaker, home educator, and director of home operations, taking on part-time roles along the way.
Home again
The family moved back to Waseca in 2017. Some towns you leave. Some towns you come back to.
The company
Stoltz Cleaning Services LLC was founded in January 2021 — a family-owned business, operating out of Waseca. The recurring commercial accounts came and stayed: City Hall, the Public Library, a local bank, area offices. A full list of recurring residential clients grew alongside them.
The chapter we didn’t choose
The marriage that built this company ended. There’s no dramatic telling of that worth putting on a business page — families fracture, and this one did. Matt stepped back so the work could carry on, and for a season the company ran in pieces.
A long-time back injury had already narrowed what his own hands could take on — the carpet work, the deep-clean projects. Some chapters you’d never choose. You show up and clean anyway. That’s the trade.

The revival
Stoltz Cleaning is being rebuilt — based right here in Waseca, on the foundation that never moved: more than three years of weekly cleaning for the City of Waseca City Hall and the Waseca Public Library, the foundation clients who show up for local business the way this town always has.
A growing crew. A bigger menu of services. Real payroll for real cleaners. The plan is a full-offering cleaning company, and the plan is underway.
This was never just a cleaning business. It’s a family company that broke and refused to stay broken — and every clean building is proof.
